Privacy policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains how ArtiRoute ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you request gas, heating, or plumbing work or use an account on our platform.

Who we are

ArtiRoute operates a quote-and-book platform connecting customers with independent platform-checked engineers for gas, heating, and plumbing. For data protection queries, contact hello@artiroute.co.uk.

What we collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account or sending a booking request: name, email, phone, postcode, address, job description, photos, access notes, and communication preferences. Engineers receive the details needed to quote and carry out work you approve.

How we use your data

We use your data to operate the service: matching your request to verified engineers, delivering quotes, scheduling visits, sending status updates, preventing fraud, and improving the platform. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Legal bases (UK GDPR)

We process data to perform our contract with you (providing the booking service), for legitimate interests (security, service improvement, dispute resolution), and where required by law. Marketing emails are sent only where permitted and you may opt out.

Email and text messages

We send service emails about your account and bookings (for example quote updates, visit confirmations, and password resets). These essential messages continue while you have an active request. Optional emails (such as welcome messages and open-job alerts to engineers) include an unsubscribe link in the footer. If we send promotional messages in future, we will only do so where the law allows. Contact hello@artiroute.co.uk about email preferences or to exercise your data rights.

Sharing

We share job details with the engineer matched to your request and with service providers that help us run the platform (hosting, email delivery, analytics where used). Engineers are independent contractors responsible for their own compliance when carrying out work.

Retention

We keep records for as long as needed to operate the service, meet legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account subject to records we must retain by law.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, or object to certain processing. Contact hello@artiroute.co.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication and preferences (for example sound settings). We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the customer booking flow.
